Guided by Voices - Vampire on Titus
The outsiders’ first album for the outside world was pretty outside. Everything you’ve heard is true: yes, it’s very lo-fi, unabashedly so, yes, the songs are often difficult, and yes, it’s still a great album. I don’t think there’s another GBV album where the “snippets” are so integral and memorable as here. It’s a great ride from start to finish, it plays exceptionally well as a complete listening experience. And there are more than a couple tracks on here that could stand up to anything on Bee Thousand or Alien Lanes.
